For my presentation, I chose to analyze the work of Laura Letinsky. Laura is from Winnipeg, Canada. She is 60 years old and is a fine arts photographer who is currently located in Chicago. She is a photographer, artist, and a professor. Her work is very popular among Brides magazine, Martha Stewart Living, and more. She creates still life images that have a very unique setting depicting a messy table.
Reviewing Laura Letinksy's work made me realize that perfection does not equal beauty when it comes to photography, and in life in general. Lauras' images depict scenes that are messy and imperfect, however the image is still beautiful. Her work is so unique and it really stood out to me from the other photographers. With her images, you almost do not even realize that the photos are of messy tables because she captures it in such a way that makes it look so clean and pleasing to the eye. I think the message behind Laura's work is such a good one and it can be taken even farther than photography.
